Regulation of fungal pathogenicity determinants by chromatin modifications
Alan de Oliveira Silva, Holger B. Deising
Plants can be equipped with effective resistant mechanisms against fungal pathogens if the infection biology, genes indispensable for pathogenicity, and timing and mode of regulation of expression of these are known. The mechanisms controlling coordinate gene expression are of particular importance in those fungi that sequentially differentiate highly specific infection structures. In this project we will exploit the role of epigenetic factors in chromatin organization and genome-wide gene expression.
